Emmi-pet Teeth Cleaning
We include manual teeth cleaning and fresh breath foam as part of our full groom services. This will remove debris and soft plaque and leave breath smelling sweet again.

Sometimes a more robust teeth clean is necessary so we may recommend Emmi-pet teeth cleaning.
What is Emmi-pet?
Advanced Technology
The Emmi-Pet toothbrush uses a unique Ultrasonic Piezo-Chip that generates up to 96 million oscillations per minute, compared to the 20,000 oscillations of human electric toothbrushes.

Effective Cleaning
Ultrasound waves transfer through the bristles and specially formulated toothpaste to erode and loosen tartar gently.

Bacteria Reduction
From the first use, the ultrasound kills bacteria in the mouth, reducing bad breath immediately.
The Emmi-Pet system is a gentle, noiseless, and motionless dental care system that uses ultrasonic technology to effectively clean your dog's teeth. Adding it to your dog's groom works well as a maintenance treatment to support your dog’s dental regimen at home.
It will kill bacteria, remove plaque and debris and erode a thin layer of tartar, which is a big help, but conditions will continue to build again if nothing more is done.
If your dog already has a visible build up of tartar Emmi-pet once every 4 weeks alongside their groom will not be enough to thoroughly clean the teeth.
Multiple, frequent treatments will be required to erode a build up of tartar, and we can arrange for this to take place at the salon. The closer together the treatments, the more effective they will be. At least 3 times a week is recommended.
Once your dog’s teeth are nice and clean, having an Emmi-pet treatment every four weeks or so will help you to maintain them.
FAQs

Will It Hurt My Dog?
No, the ultrasound technology is painless and there is no noise or vibration. It only needs to be held against each tooth for up to 60 seconds.

How Quickly Will I See a Difference?
This depends on the initial condition of the teeth. Heavy tartar deposits may require 10 or more treatments, but bad breath should reduce immediately after the first use.

What If My Dog Doesn't Like It?
If your dog shows discomfort, they may need veterinary attention. Do not force your dog.
If you are unsure if your dog will accept the treatment please ask your groomer for advice.

Is It Worth It If My Dog Has No Tartar?
Yes, prevention is better than cure. Regular treatments help maintain dental health and fresh breath, but less frequent treatments should be enough. Every four weeks seems to work well for maintaining teeth in good condition.

Will this mean my dog won’t have to have an anesthetic for vet dental treatment?
Maybe. It will depend on the condition of your dog’s teeth, but we would always recommend a veterinary dental assessment.
